The Pedal Car Collection

The Tri-Ang Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible

The Rolls Royce Corniche was produced only for a few years under licence from Rolls-Royce motor cars Ltd
This car is the odd one out in the collection as it is not really a Pedal Car.
This car is battery operated with electric motors that drive the rear wheels.
None the less i feel it is a very pretty car and features include :-
Working Head lights and Side lights
Working horn
Forward and reverse gears
An ignition system which requires the key to make the car work.

As you may be able to see in photo the car is in good condition only requiring a few minor details to make it perfect.
More pictures in the Gallery section

My first J40 Pedal car

I purchased this car a couple of years ago from a gentleman not too far away in the town of Bathgate.
The details i have on this car are that the previous owner purchased the car around 1975 with the intention of restoring it himself. The car has been in dry storage prior to 1975 for some 15 - 20 years crated up as you can seen in the Gallery section .
This car is now under going restoration by myself and you can see the progress in the Restoration section

Austin Pathfinder Pedal car

This particular car was stripped down to restore, but unfortunately it never got round to being restored.
I know only too well how these things can get pushed to the back with the intention of starting later.
The pathfinder was only produced for 1 year 1949 - 1950. It is not known how many of these cars were produced.
Estimates suggest a thousand or so of these cars survive world wide.
If you like pedal cars and you EVER come accross one of these for sale, BUY IT, they are very very rare and sought after. If you look in the Gallery section you will see a bad shape green pathfinder. Make no mistake the photos hide a multiude of sins. This car is solid but in quite rough condition and would benifit from a front to back restoration. Missing bonnet but otherwise complete. In this condition when it was sold it still made just under Three Thousand.

The second J40 Pedal car with Flying "A" Mascot

When production started of the J40 in 1950, the first cars had a flying A steel mascot on the bonnet.
A later change in Law meant that this Mascot could no longer be placed on the bonnet as it represented a risk to other children should they fall against it.

The third J40 Pedal car with Flying "A" Mascot

The Flying "A" Mascot was subsequently removed from the J40 and future cars simply had a chrome bonnet strip from that point on until production ceased in 1971.

This little chap "above" Was another project that someone never got round to finishing.
The car was bead Blasted and all the old paint removed. It was then coated in Primer and left.
Unfortunately Primer is not waterproof, infact it actally absorbs water from the atmosphere even when in dry conditions.
If you take a car to this stage it is better to cover it with clear laquer too as this will protect the car.
This will be the Thrid car to be restored.
