Documenting your steps

This is the crucial part when doing any stripdown as time spent well documenting this stage can potantially save hours and hours during the re-build stage.

There is no such thing as over documenting, take as many notes as you can, draw small diagrams and take photos. During the strip down label each item and add a description of the part and where it goes (position, front, back etc) what ir connects to, how it connects etc.

Trust me you will not remember how it all went together,as these projects can take months.

Have a selection of re-sealable bags and a permanent marker. As you strip te car down place the item in the bag and labe it staright away. It is laborious but well worth the effort. Have a couple of boxes handy to store the bags and larger parts in and label these boxes too. The more time spent doing this will be rewarded in the re-assembly stage.
